The AmCham Board met on February 11. The board discussed the current situation with US-Georgia relations, particualrly the suspension of USAID projects, and its impact on AmCham, our members and the country. The board also discussed the Select-USA event, which we plan to attend along with the US Ambassador and interested members.

AmCham President Irakli Baidashvili and Executive Director George Welton met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia, Her Excellency Marge Mardisalu-Kahar. They discussed a wide range of national and international issues that are on-going for Georgia and the region, as well as the deep connection between the two countries.

The meeting discussed the current state of the Georgian economy and the attitudes of the Georgia business community to the local and global situation.

AmCham Scholarship Awarding Ceremony

AmCham Georgia hosted a certificate awarding ceremony for the second-year students of our university scholarship program, an initiative that AmCham Georgia, in partnership with the MAC Georgia, launched in 2023.

The program gives scholarships to socially vulnerable students. With the support of its generous member companies, the program currently supports 61 students by covering their tuition fees and providing a modest living allowance.

The U.S. Ambassador, Robin Dunnigan, attended the event and, together with AmCham President Irakli Baidashvili, granted certificates to the beneficiaries of the program.

The AmCham Board met on January 21. The board discussed the key elements of AmCham strategy and upcoming events in 2025, as well as discussing agenda items for the AmCham retreat. Additionally DHL, Regus and Highrise Group were accepted as new members.

Discussion with European Ambassador

The American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia (AmCham) and The European Business Association (EBA) hosted a joint discussion for the private sector on recent developments in the country, featuring a special address by H.E. Pawel Herczynski, the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

The event convened distinguished members of AmCham and EBA, alongside European ambassadors, trade attachés, representatives from international organizations, and international financial institutions.

Participants emphasized the critical need for collaboration among business sector representatives to drive collective actions that support Georgia's European integration and its path toward sustainable development.
